This is a translation of the insert sheet which comes with the original 1986 release of Roots Search: Shokushin Buttai X on home media. The reverse side of this sheet contains the lyrics for the vocal theme as well as voiceover credit.


Story 
Far away in the distant future, in the black expanse of space that stretches infinitely and deeply. This story begins on the planet called Tolmekius. Inside of the E.S.P. research laboratory of the space research satellite which is in orbit above the planet, the study of an Esper is underway. The test subject is an 18-year old girl called Moira. She is a member of this research team, and rather than having “premonitions”, she has the ability to “read” the future. Her beautiful eyes have filled with sadness, everyone believes that her and Scott, her colleague, have a promising future together, however… A small spaceship suddenly warps in during their research. Warping into a restricted area, the E.S.P. research team receives no reply when they answer the suspicious spaceship’s SOS signal as it warps. As Moira and Scott enter this spaceship, the Green Planet, they discover, within the eerie stillness, pools of blood and the dead crew, but, there was one survivor among them. His name is Buzz. With Buzz in tow, the Green Planet is retrieved by the satellite, but upon investigation into the Green Planet’s medical unit, there was something strange.   Its shape was humanoid, but it clearly was not human. Upon seeing this alien creature, Chief Marcus rashly screamed, “hurry and get rid of it!”. From this moment, strange incidents begin happening at the research centre, the first to be the victim is Marcus. Once, he had betrayed the former director of the same institute, Raymond, who manifested and impaled Marcus through iron. Even more, within the light and the overwhelming rising requiem, were Norman and also Scott… The alien, entering into the hearts of men, turns the forgotten memories of past traumas into different forms, Marcus, Norman, Scott, are killed in states of insanity, it approaches Moira and Buzz and speaks the name “God”. Immediately within the growing terror, comes the alien’s sudden attack. The situation is desperate! With the love and strength of soul two people share, and their hope for the future, they will fight to the end… A sci-fi adventure horror that approaches the root of humanity in blood and terror.

"Film Comics" were short-length print versions of OVAs that provided truncated summaries and stories of the titles they were tied in with, they featured stills from the original animation which were arranged in a semi-comic book style, but with narrational text instead of speech bubbles.
